Resumo: Ibiza is a Mediterranean tourist destination known internationally for its sun and beach offer. This paper is a historical study of tourism in Ibiza during the last quarter of the 20th century. Growth remained but it was necessary to cope with the consequences of the rapid tourist growth of previous decades: supply limitation; environmental protection; modernization of supply; diversification of outbound markets. The economic crisis of the early nineties was a turning point for tourism entrepreneurs; quantitative growth was replaced by qualitative improvement. Since then, entrepreneurs have led the changes and innovations in the sector, reaching the current situation. The last quarter of the 20th century is the transition between the Tourist Boom of the sixties and today's tourist Ibiza.
