Resumo: Since the emergence of so-called mass tourism, the seasonality of demand has been presented as one of the main challenges faced by managers of tourist destinations. To this end, strategies have been designed that seek to diversify products in order to attract tourists in the months with the lowest occupancy rates. But to achieve this goal, and obtain the best portfolio of products that optimize the tourist infrastructure of the destination, it is essential to know how the number of travelers is distributed throughout the year.          The objective of this paper is to analyze the tourist seasonality of Extremadura, using as a variable the number of travelers visiting the 15 tourist districts in which the region is divided, to analyze if there are significant differences between them. For this, the data provided by the Tourism Observatory of Extremadura and referred to the all months of 2016 will be used. This analysis of seasonality has been carried out using the two most commonly used measures in the literature: the coefficient of variation and the Gini index. The results obtained allow identifying different patterns of seasonality in each of the analyzed territories, as well as knowing the implications that inequality distribution of travelers over time causes in them.
