Resumo: This Project main objective is to observe the evolution of Rural Tourism in Spain, especially in Castile and León by special
consolidation of this product, from its beginnings in the sixties to the present day - June 2016 - . Also the prospects that are expected for this type of tourism are studied. For all have used various studies and publications, among other sources of information and, similarly, have applied themselves to the qualitative research methodology to know, first hand techniques, the perception of the owners, managers and those involved with the tourism industry about their expectations for the future for this tourism product.
From the study we can advance that although the Rural Tourism is a tourist typology that, at present, is consolidated, needs a re-adaptation to new demands, so that does not evolve into a phase of decline that even, resulting in the disappearance of the same.
As we shall see, the conclusions obtained in this investigation, this conversion is based, among other actions, in a homogenization of supply, strong product marketing, both nationally and internationally, and specialization and differentiation of service offerings.
