Resumo: The Sociedad Propagandista del Clima de Málaga (1896) has the honor of being the first tourist agency of Málaga, and possibly all Spain. It is essentially a Sindicato de Iniciativa, led by the former mayor of Málaga, Francisco Prieto Mera, who proposed the creation of the Juntas para el Fomento del Turismo in 1905. This article explores the figure of this pioneer and the ephemeral society´s activities; it is focused on promoting climate and organization of festivities. We makes a bibliographic review of the newspaper La Unión Mercantil (1886-1936), nineteenth-century reference newspaper in the city of Malaga, to obtain the results
