Resumo: Tourism requires new perspectives to understand its behaviour and to face the future in times of change, especially in small-scale scenarios. The aim of this article is to describe the properties of a socio-ecological system and its representation in a resilient community with a vocation for tourism. The findings determined that community and community tourism are ideal examples of socio-ecological systems, which are based on four key elements and resilience an analytical tool of their behavior. The methodology was retrospective and topical. The method of analysis-synthesis and the use of mathematical language were used to interpret and represent the theoretical-conceptual postulates of this study.
