Resumo: The main purpose of this article is to determine the influence of ethics in the practice of slum tourism in Lima, Peru. Ethics defined as the behavior of human beings in relation to the values and norms of coexistence. Slum tourism is a typology of tourism activity whose main motivation is visiting the most impoverished areas. For which, we proceeded to establish the state of the art on this practice with respect to the investigations carried out; as well as the aspects that have not yet been dealt with at the national and international level. In the same way, the motivations that induce tourists to this type of tourism, the same ones that are related to their innate curiosity, the search for new experiences and emotions. The qualitative approach was used, through a case study, for this we participated in one of the main tours that take place in the most populated districts of Lima, such as Villa El Salvador. A checklist and interviews with tourists, residents and specialists were used. The conclusion we reached was that the practice of slum tourism in Villa El Salvador is influenced by the principles of ethics and therefore by the axiological scale of the actors involved.
