Resumo: This work makes a review on the value that young university students give to the religious cultural heritage of the Altos de Jalisco, which was a fundamental factor in the formation of the Alteño imaginary until the 20th century.
The research was conducted through the application of a questionnaire to assess the knowledge and value that undergraduate students of different academic programs give to the heritage and its identification with it.
Among the main results obtained is the lack of knowledge and dissociation of young people with local heritage and the imaginary alteño that gave rise to the new religious geography of the Altos de Jalisco, Mexico
