Resumo: Western Andalusia has a rich medieval heritage that is evidenced both by its quantity and its quality. This heritage is the result of a historical process of expansion of Christian kingdoms against Muslim rule, which takes place between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries. Therefore, the existing historical assets are evidence of the great cultural, social and economic transformations that take place in this period of medieval peninsular history. Since the 1960s, with the expansion of tourism in Spain, the late medieval heritage has been the subject of tourist use both at an individual level and with its integration into routes or cultural itineraries. On the other hand, from the legislative point of view, its recognition has been enhanced in order to favor its value and protection. On the one hand, the objective of this work is to offer an analysis of the late medieval heritage of Cadiz, and on the other hand, its tourist use will be studied as well as the possibilities it offers within the sector.
