Resumo: This paper socialises the trial of an academic experience from a theoretical interdisciplinary approach stated by the Latin American epistemologist Rolando Garcia, in which the academic areas of cultural tourism, natural tourism, and English are integrated with specific purposes enlighted into three courses of the major bachelor in Recreation and Tourism with a certification in Promotion and Guiding of Recreation and Tourism. This courses were given in first academic semester of 2018 at the Northern and Caribbean Branch Universidad Nacional, Costa Rica.
So that, this process’ goal was to develop an innovative and integral field trip, in accordance to complex scenarios that the future professionals might face.
Furthermore, methodologically the experience considered the execution of four stages: 1) The academic coordination prior the presentation of the course outlines to students. 2) The final proposal and planning of activities to be developed by scholars and students in the field trip. 3) The execution of field work and the teaching valuation of final products. 4) The reflection of the experience for scholars and students.
As a result, the article ends with an introspection on the need of including interdisciplinary and integrity notions to the academic dynamic; proposing improvement elements and recommendations based on experience towards the continuing and institutionalization of these academic practices.
