Resumo: The Bay of Navidad is made up of the towns of Melaque and Barra de Navidad. Which together with other municipalities of the Jalisco coast make up the tourist brand “Costalegre”. Although tourism is an important activity for the Bay, the productive vocation has gone from being a merchant port to a fishing village and recently a tourist destination. In this sense, tourism could be the activity that detone the development of these localities, but it is necessary to articulate the cluster through the brand and the other destinations of the Costalegre; as well as the linkages between the different productive sectors. What would favor the participation of the different actors and the incidence of policies for the development of the sector and thus make the tourism sector contribute to local economic development.
