Resumo: This article exposes some of the findings from a research about the senses that physical education teachers in training at the Catholic University of Maule expressed about outdoor activities. One of the categories emerged from this study is related to characterization of initial training from the relevance in the curriculum and their own training in the area. This is a phenomenological study framed on the interpretative paradigm and qualitative methodology. Results allow see the congruence between the issues raised by the national educational curriculum and the proposed initial training in the Physical Education area.
