Resumo: RESUMO: Fruto de pesquisa bibliográfica e de campo pretende-se nesse estudo retratar a Educação Física e animação sociocultural como elo nas relações entre o adulto e o campo do lazer. Os objetivos são identificar qual o “perfil” do profissional de Educação Física que atua com pessoas adultas, compreendê-lo, no que diz respeito às suas ligações com o adulto e o lazer e, apresentar a animação sociocultural como ferramenta educativa, tendo o profissional de Educação Física como agente intermediador nesse espaço.THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROFESSIONAL AS A SOCIOCULTURAL ANIMATOR WORKING IN CLUBS IN AMERICANA-SP: CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE LEISURE AND ADULT AGEABSTRACT: A result from bibliographical and field research, this study intends to investigate the Physical Education and the sociocultural animation as a connection in the relationships between the adult and the leisure field. The objectives are to identify what is the “profile” of the Physical Education professional who works with adult people, to understand it, considering its connections with the adult and the leisure, and to present the sociocultural animation as an educative tool, by having the Physical Education professional as mediator agent in this space.
