Resumo: This work is part of the research project “Design of an archaeological-historical tourist route, the case of the north coast of the province of Manabí”. Its objective was focused on making a diagnosis of the archaeological settlements existing in the area under study that significantly contributes to the project. The bibliographic review allowed analyzing the contributions of research carried out in the archaeological field, heritage and civilization settlements in the parish of San Isidro. The analytical method made it possible to address research related to archaeological issues as a contribution to the study and the descriptive method agreed from the observation to argue criteria of a certain situation. The research was structured in two phases, which were designed with a structure according to the study carried out. The survey at the level of cultural manifestations agreed to verify the type of attractiveness and its hierarchical level. The cognitive study matrix allowed us to define from the bibliographies found which ones have the greatest relevance and importance to the subject for future investigations. A survey was carried out at the level of cultural settlements where the Chorrera culture was the most represented with 46.3% of the amounts of existing works. Within the archaeological works the most represented correspond to the vessels with 64.02% at the unit level. It is concluded that the applied instrument yielded satisfactory results for the continuity of other investigations regarding the research topic.
