Resumo: The objective of the article is to consider the practical teaching methodology in the presentation of the hotel room product. Theoretical elements that support practical teaching to present the room to the guest are described. Methodological strategies for practical teaching are also identified. A documentary field study was carried out, feasible project modality. The population and sample was constituted by students and professors of the Simón Bolívar University. The survey technique was used, implementing the Likert scale questionnaire. It was found that the practical teaching of the presentation of rooms, contributes to the training of competences for a better performance in the management of hotel rooms. A conclusive aspect is the opportunity given by the practice to boost the training capacity, that is, the professional obtains the skill to train the workers who perform functions in the department of Ama de Llaves.
