Resumo: The aim of this paper is to analyze from a touristic point of view, the relationship between receptive tourism and the evolution of the real multilateral tourism exchange rate between 2008 and 2018 in Argentina. ITCRMT data and the arrival of international tourists to Argentina in this period are considered. A time series analysis is applied to know the secular, seasonal and cyclic behavior of the variables. The relationship between them is based on the analysis and interpretation of the graphics, considering the turning points in the behavior of the variables and interpreting the relationships according to the socio-economic events between 2008 and 2018. In addition, tourist arrival variables were logged for two trimesters and compared to explore for ITCRMT effects. The variables show a relatively stable trend and a seasonal and irregular component is identified. In the study period, the variables are not linearly associated, although similar behavior is evident at different times. This shows that ITCRMT is a relevant variable in the behavior of international demand.
