Resumo: In the last years, the transformations and the configuration of the territories lead to a constant analysis of the processes and the impacts on the structures and the use of the territories, especially in the communities that seek alternatives for their development. In this context, community development is presented in different ways, an alternative for development is rural tourism that can lead the local population to a territorial appropriation. Therefore, the available literature was reviewed to know and understand the studies of rural tourism linked to territorial appropriation. To do this, a compilation of information was made, to summarize and analyze research on rural tourism as an activity that has led to territorial appropriation.
