Resumo: RESUMO: O turismo pode ser estratégico para o desenvolvimento de diversas regiões e seus territórios. As estruturas de governança, por sua vez, são fundamentais para que este desenvolvimento seja coordenado, participativo e caracterizado por movimentos endógenos. Para que isto se concretize, a governança precisa ser eficiente, conforme preconiza a literatura especializada. Tendo tais parâmetros como norte, esta pesquisa buscou avaliar a efetividade da Instância de Governança Regional (IGR) Caminho dos Ipês, em Mato Grosso do Sul, compreendendo o período de 2008 a 2021. A metodologia consistiu em estudo de caso, a partir da estratégia de triangulação. Os resultados encontrados permitem conhecer a evolução institucional da IGR, identificar os investimentos realizados e os desafios que persistem ao longo dos seus treze anos de existência, bem como, apontar estratégias que possam auxiliar uma nova governança. ABSTRACT: Tourism can be strategic for the development of different regions and their territories. Governance structures, in turn, are fundamental for this development to be coordinated, participatory and characterized by endogenous movements. For this to happen, governance needs to be efficient, as recommended in the specialized literature. Having such parameters as north, this research sought to assess the effectiveness of the governance structure of the IGR Caminho dos Ipês, in Mato Grosso do Sul, covering the period from 2008 a 2021. The methodology consisted of a case study, based on the triangulation strategy. The results allow us to know the institutional evolution of the IGR, identify the investments made and the challenges that persist throughout its thirteen years of existence, as well as pointing out strategies that can help a new governance.
