Resumo: The following research addresses the impact of using eco-efficient practices in operational and corporate activities in five-star urban hotels in the four main cities of Peru (Arequipa, Cusco, Lima, Trujillo), where the hotel industry is representative and has the highest probability of investment intentions. The methodology is based on qualitative, descriptive approach. It has been used standardized interviews delimiting the study to five stars hotels. The findings allow us to identify the practices mostly used by hotels, in addition to knowing the perceptions and intentions for their adoption, maintenance, control and improvement. On the other hand, the relevance of measuring the carbon footprint and keeping a record of its environmental impact is demonstrated, to carry out future sustainable efforts.
