Resumo: Tourists today demand authentic experiences that make them part of the destination. Cheese tourism is a growing area that provides tourists with experience satisfaction. Information and communication technology (ICT) has changed the way we travel and user-generated content on different platforms is a useful source of information about preferences and consumption trends. The aim of this study is to analyse a selection of tourist experiences related to cheese based on the headings of the comments posted by users on the Tripadvisor platform, in order to identify the success factors and features of their experiences. The study consisted of a quantitative content analysis of the headings of the reviews of a sample of cheese tourism experiences using a methodology based on text mining. The results reveal the items mentioned most frequently by tourists, their preferences when choosing this type of experience, and the success factors involved. The study concludes with a series of recommendations for designing cheese-based tourism experiences, based in particular on the importance of establishing synergies between local products and the role of food as a motivational factor.
