Resumo: This research deals with the paradigm of sustainability in the hotel tourism sector in Veracruz. The general objective is to identify and analyze the key elements necessary for the evaluation of the degree of implementation of sustainable management strategies in the hotel tourism sector of Veracruz, through the proposal of a Sustainable Integral Scorecard Model based on recent research. The methodology is based on a descriptive quantitative analysis of primary sources. The results show that of the establishments analyzed, 68% place more emphasis on economic results, neglecting the importance of the environmental and social perspective of the host regions, and the establishment of strategies aimed at implementing the development of more sustainable tourism.
