Resumo: The Leader Method was initiated in rural areas with the objective of helping to reduce existing problems: aging, less development, masculinization, etc. These problems made clear the need to integrate women in rural development processes, as an active part of the process. Within the measures applied, tourism had a special incidence, being women one of the main promoters. Therefore, the objective of the research is to analyze whether the Leader Method has complied with the principle of equality through the study of investments in tourism in Extremadura. In this study, the beneficiaries of the financed tourism projects will be reviewed by means of different statistical and GIS techniques.
