Resumo: This text objective is a general review and reflection of the characteristics of religious tourism: debates, globalization, pilgrimages, commerce and places of worship. This study lands with some images and traditional temples of popular religiosity in Mexico. Interviews are conducted in addition to the literature review. As a result, a general panorama is obtained that indicates the changes in recent times: the increase in devotees; commerce; the adaptation of speeches and the readaptation of spaces, a source of income for a group of locals, of faith for pilgrims and distraction for tourism, if such a distinction is made.
