Resumo: The social relationships in a community are framed in a set of values and in ways of interpretate the reality to make a common trajectory. The identity, solidarity, cooperation and reciprocity (features of the social capital), define the common trajectory of the decisions of the communities and, at the same time, they allow an approach to the shared development strategies. The presence of the social capital makes to assume that the community development, understood like a set of thought actions and dialogued from inside of the community that are undertaken to get better the life conditions of the population, it might conceive like a solution strategy of the day-to-day dispute at the inside of the community. With information from the ethnographic method, supported with no participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, files reviews and hemerographic, field journal, photographs and videos, the objective of this article is to analyse the relationship between social capital and community participation, in the frame of the social results in projects of nature tourism, implemented by the other CDI in two wixaritari towns of the state of Nayarit displaced by the construction of the reservoir of the hydroelectric dam of Aguamilpa: Colorado de la Mora y Potrero de la Palmita. The research shows that not in all the cases have been verified successful experiences, less when this are implemented in a vertical way. It was found that the community participation of the indigenous population in the projects of nature tourism shows an estrangement with the identity of the population, that generates limiting in the formulation, application and evaluation of the projects implemented in the state of Nayarit. The touristic project of the Ejido Colorado de la Mora, didn’t generate attachment with the indigenous population, that cause the abandonment of the tourism project; however, in the Comunidad Potrero de la Palmita exist an interaction between the community participation and the identity of the population of this community, that, even though doesn’t show a high visitors rate, an attachment is seen and an interest in the project from the members of the community.
