Resumo: Since the 2020 pandemic, the Mexican tourism sector’s share of the country’s gross domestic product has plummeted. However, the new spatial dynamics resulting from the pandemic have opened up new opportunities for ecotourism. The aim of this article is to create a series of cartograms of the apiaries in the state of Veracruz, Mexico, in order to identify the strongholds of apitourism in each municipality and assess their ecotourism potential. The data for the study were collected using virtual surveys conducted via social media. The results show that the municipality with the most potential for apitourism is Coatepec, followed by Martínez de la Torre, Nautla, Yecuatlan and Misantla in the Nautla region, Castillo de Teayo in the Huasteca Baja region, and a final municipality in the Papaloapan region.
