Resumo: In recent days, the Human Rights Council recognized the human right to a healthy environment, which represents a historic advance in improving the quality of life of people in the world. In this way, the United Nations recognizes the human right to develop in a safe, clean, healthy and sustainable environment. Therefore, the objective of this article is to analyze the implications that the recognition of the right to a healthy environment will have on tourism. For this, documentary analysis will be used to know the particularities of this fact, a legal study will be made to address how this right has been recognized, in the same way, a critical analysis will be made to formulate judgments on the subject. As main results, it is found that the recognition of this right will have implications in the management of sustainability, green energies, in the fight against climate change, in the maintenance of biodiversity and in the use of toxic substances. Regarding the conclusions, tourism products have to rationalize the use of resources. Hotels, restaurants and tourist transportation are committed to offering better products and services, with quality and that take care of the environment; accompanied by new criteria and approaches that enrich this task, in the current global environment.
