Resumo: This is the first study to look at halal tourism from a scientific perspective, intending to inform practitioners about unexplored or unaddressed problems, challenges, and research opportunities with practical implications. This paper reveals the characteristics of halal tourism, the special needs of Muslim tourists, the implications of halal tourism, the awareness and perceptions of halal tourism, and the industry responses currently available. Selected articles examine the significance and philosophy of Islamic tourism and the perception of Muslim travelers in the context of contemporary global tourism developments. There were five primary types of theories discovered: (a) worldviews, (b) testable views, (c) empirical significance, (d) statistical models, and (e) grounded theories. Additionally, literature research, and qualitative and quantitative methods were identified.
