Resumo: Pueblos Mágicos is one of the emblematic tourism programs of the federal government in the last two decades. Since 2019 it does not receive federal public budget, this represented a turning point, by limiting financial resources to the incorporated localities and those that continue to be incorporated. The objective of the present study is to determine the level of continuity of the Magical Towns Program (PPM), in the case of the state of Michoacán. For this purpose, the methodology used consists of the application of a semi-structured interview, oriented to officials of the Ministry of Tourism of the state of Michoacán and a survey applied to citizens. With the data obtained in the field, a number of indexes were generated that condense information related to its operation and that try to determine the level of continuity in the main sections defined by the PPM itself. The main results are as follows: economic continuity index of 70.16, social continuity index of 52.67, cultural continuity index of 74.31, institutional continuity index of 45.57. Thus, the current scenario of the PPM is somewhere between continuity and intermittency.
