Resumo: Tourism in San Andrés de Teixido has changed the functional structure of the town and the way of life of the local population in recent decades. The influx of visitors into the area combined with growing administrative requirements in relation to animal care has led many people within the community to abandon their traditional primary sector activities and focus their resources on tourism instead. This article examines the functional change in the infrastructure of the village and reflects on elements, such as the road, which have transformed the needs of both locals and visitors.
