Resumo: Cultural heritage is a first-rate tourist resource and that its good management by the appropriate professionals and the competent administrations can turn into a tourist product. An example of this is the so-called Cuevas Menudas (small caves), a group made up of seventeen artificial cavities from medieval times, in the municipality of Villasabariego (León). Despite having obtained the BIC declaration in 1985, they have been immersed in a state of neglect until the second decade of the 21st century thanks to a scientific study on them. We have followed its evolution from the twenties of the last century to the year 2022 based on the studies and the published press reports. Their enhancement and conservation intervention in 2018 has made them a verifiable tourist phenomenon through the usual influx of visitors they receive and the notoriety they have acquired in the media. In addition, there has been a revaluation of the Roman site preserved in its vicinity.
