Resumo: RESUMO: O turismo é uma atividade a qual envolve recursos naturais, culturais, sociais e econômicos. As mudanças climáticas podem afetar significativamente as atividades turísticas, impactando sua competitividade e sua sustentabilidade. Frente a essa realidade, o objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar a percepção dos discentes e funcionários da Escola Municipal de Ensino Fundamental Indígena Professor Antônio de Sousa Pedroso, sobre os possíveis impactos do clima e as consequências dos eventos climáticos para a prática do turismo na Vila Balneária de Alter do Chão, situada em Santarém, estado do Pará. Para obtenção de dados, utilizou-se a temperatura máxima e a precipitação pluvial da REDEMET do Aeroporto Internacional de Santarém - Maestro Wilson Fonseca, disponíveis pelo Programa de Tecnologia da Informação para a Meteorologia do Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais. As informações secundárias foram coletadas por meio de questionários aplicados a alunos (8º e 9º ano) e funcionários, totalizando 62 respostas, com perguntas objetivas e subjetivas. Analisando as respostas, verificou-se que o clima pode ter impacto na atividade turística na região. Entre elas, destacaram-se os 62% que afirmaram essa relação, enquanto 7% dos entrevistados mostraram incertezas e não possuem uma percepção clara sobre o efeito do aumento da temperatura na região. No entanto, é importante conscientizar os alunos para minimizar os impactos negativos das mudanças climáticas no setor turístico local. Assim, é necessário criar estratégias efetivas para prevenir e se adaptar aos efeitos dessas mudanças, como chuvas fortes e aumento da temperatura, que podem afetar a experiência dos visitantes e a infraestrutura turística. ABSTRACT: Tourism is an activity that involves natural, cultural, social and economic resources. Climate change can significantly affect tourism activities, impacting their competitiveness and sustainability. Faced with this reality, the objective of this work was to analyze the perception of students and employees of the Municipal School of Indigenous Elementary Education Professor Antônio de Sousa Pedroso about the possible impacts of climate and the consequences of climate events for the practice of tourism in Vila Balneária de Alter do Chão, located in Santarém, state of Pará. To obtain data, we used the maximum temperature and rainfall from REDEMET at the International Airport of Santarém - Maestro Wilson Fonseca, available from the Information Technology Program for Meteorology of the National Institute for Space Research. Secondary information was collected through questionnaires applied to students (8th and 9th grade) and employees, totaling 62 responses, with objective and subjective questions. Analyzing the responses, it was found that the climate can have an impact on tourism in the region. Among them, the 62% who affirmed this relationship stood out, while 7% of the interviewees showed uncertainties and did not have a clear perception of the effect of the increase in temperature in the region. However, it is important to make students aware of how to minimize the negative impacts of climate change on the local tourism sector. Thus, it is necessary to create effective strategies to prevent and adapt to the effects of these changes, such as heavy rains and temperature increase, which can affect the visitor experience and the tourist infrastructure.
