Resumo: The Jesuit-Guarani missions of eastern America are a tourist destination that attract both national and international tourists. In this study, the missions of São Miguel, São João, Santo Ângelo and São Lourenço, located in the current territory of Brazil, are analyzed. São Miguel stands out as a legacy of archaeological and architectural heritage, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The object of this study is the formulation of the missions of São Miguel as a primary offer for the development of cultural tourism in the region. In this research, which is qualitative in nature, social, historical and architectural formation are focused on, highlighting the heritage and the possibilities of heritage interpretation. The aim is, accordingly, to provide contributions to improving the use of heritage and the visitor experience, through heritage interpretation actions.
