Resumo: This work aims to establish links between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the characteristics of micro indigenous ecotourism in Mexico. The most relevant aspects of the economic, social and environmental aspects of CSR in these companies looking for an assessment of institutional programs that have supported this activity are identified. Also, through a non-random survey an exploratory approach to understanding the concept of CSR by 40 of the managers of these companies was taken. The results show that actions for responsibility they undertake correspond, in order of most to least important, to the economic, social and ecological dimensions. They highlight the key role of the business community and their social commitment. However, paradoxically, environmental protection, the natural basis of the sustainability of entrepreneurship itself, is a pending matter. In general, managers of these companies are still ignorant of the potential of linking this work with the proposed Corporate Social Responsibility and therefore, the possibility that the exercise will serve as a framework for a lower position in the market and an adjunct to their survival and success.
