Resumo: Considering the statement that a sustainable tourism program has to establish procedures and systems based on sustainable development orientations, for decision making processes, as pointed out in the Agenda 21 for the Travel & Tourism Industry, this paper proposal is to elaborate an analysis using documents which had registered the Brasilia Destination and Inductor of Tourism Management Group meetings. Analysing these contents and also bringing the impressions of one of the researches as a participative observant into this group, the paper objectives to confirm if they could achieve those orientations in order to contribute for a sustainable tourism planning process. The results got to the conclusion that, no matter all the efforts and declared intentions, the objectives were not achieved.
