Resumo: The present paper aims to review the concept of Public Opinion based on Habermas (1992, 1994). It works along with the discussion of the proposed concept of online public opinion compared to the impact of Information and Communication Technologies in the hospitality industry, followed by OTA'S and social media networks. A survey was conducted among 45 hotels and hospitality managers, settled in the historical district of Rio de Janeiro, whose results showed a bias between the online public image expressed in the users point of view and the external, oine public realm represented by public police makers like SBCLASS- BRAZILIAN CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM OF HOTELS AND HOSPITALITY before social issues regarding Sustainability, Quality, Environment and Social Responsibility. Results also showed the emergence of a new theoretical framework and reviewed parameters in order to deal with the comprehensiveness of digital information approach throughout virtual marketing strategies, which promotes an enlarged digital reality of destinations and services.
