Resumo: This text is intended to reflect, from an anthropological perspective, on the importance of culture and audiovisual documentation in the field of tourism, from an experience of creating an audiovisual collection and documentation of tourism: the “Turisteca” of UTAD campus in Chaves (Portugal). This project is linked to travel and tourism UTAD degree course and to CETRAD (Center for Transdisciplinary Studies for Development) and was opened in April 2008. In this text, we analyse this project based on the value of the relationship between visual culture and tourism, educational and scientific positive impacts on the degree of UTAD tourism and in safeguarding of touristic dispersed heritage
