Resumo: Objective to analyze the exploitation of the museums as attractive tourist, according to optics of management of the museums, taking itself in account the particularitities of the Brazilian reality. Quarrel is provoked on the participation of the museums in the local politics of tourist development, has seen that the museums understand one of main attractive cultural of a locality, expressing the history and the autentic elements of a society. Finally, suggestions for the exploitation of the museums in the tourist activity of a city are listed, as well as for the rescue of the cultural aspects of a people.
