Resumo: The tourism policy of Brazil has demonstrated its capacity to guide the occupation and the use of the national territory, without being, however, articulated to other structural policies. The Ecological-Economic Zoning (ZEE) is an instrument that aims at the integration of policies unifying economic development with environmental and heritage conservancy. In the attempt of better understanding the relation between the tourism and the ZEE, it was examined the tourism approaches in ten ZEEs of the five Brazilian regions, resulting in some analysis about the utilities of the ZEE fortourism decisions. After the research, it was possible to conclude that the ZEE is an excellent instrument for the tourism planning because offers subsidies as a valid instrument to find a balance between the different interests related to the use of the territory where tourism is inserted.
