Resumo: This article presents an environmental approach to the sustainability of a tourist destination. It is intended to understand the environmental impacts generated by hotel accommodations. It is our priority to understand the interventions at the companies’ organizational and operational levels, in the hotel sector. With reference to the first level, the need to incorporate environmental concerns into the company's decision-making and the development of an effective system in achieving the company's environmental policy is highlighted. With regards to the second level or operational level, there are several areas of interventions that can be taken, but it is more important to highlight the management of energy, water and waste.It is understood that the analysis of these results will give us details where the creation of better product value together with the reduction on the consumption of resources, generates a small environmental impact. This assumption aims to ensure that the eco-efficiency of companies that incorporate sustainable development principles in the design and development of their product is guaranteed.
