Resumo: This paper seeks to understand the trends of the European Tour Operators. In this sense, we focus on two major operators in the European market: TUI and Thomas Cook. The business model that has been stabilized in the nineties led to the vertical value chain and the concentration of companies around the major players in key source markets. However, the overwhelming pace of globalization with the emergence of BRIC, the threat of low cost airlines and online booking, natural disasters, political and economic changes, the economic crisis, the management model financially leveraged and environmental requirements should significantly change the business model in this decade.
