Resumo: This research takes as a starting point the guidelines about the concepts related to Tourism and Events, including management, historical development of the association for development of business related to events and collection of events to the cities. Highlighting market, benefit the sector can provide, potential of the capital of the São Luis of Maranhão (Brazil), and research on planning and organization of activities related to industry events. We aim to analyze the current structure of events industry, the Professional training level of their managers and the relationship between public, private gender associations, through a literature and empirical research from a questionnaire with open and closed questions, targeted and direct. The results define the positioning of the business sector in the capitol and its assessment in relation to the market and public agencies of events in São Luis, defining possible solutions to the impasse currently located
