Resumo: The experience of Oporto as an historical city included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and the conflict with tourist activity, may help to understand how the cities may deal with the problems of identity and character.The question is: how to sell the rain of Oporto instead of the sun and the beaches? Are there, however, tourists that may prefer our habits, our heritage, our town with its values and its defaults, instead of the traditional and massive destinations?
