Resumo: The richness of endogenous products and natural and patrimonial resources, the know-how of the people from the interior, the sensations and contents of an ancestral life, are factors capable of attracting a niche demand from the tourist market. Today's tourists are increasingly, green consumers with growing environmental awareness and sensitive to local cultures who are looking for challenging and authentic, more flexible and healthy experiences contrary with the growing urbanization in places where they live. Tourism in Rural Areas is an opportunity for the population living in these areas to diversify their economic activities and create livelihood to ensure their way of living as  an attractive factor  for the tourists. As a result, we intend to assess the potentials for expansion of housing in rural areas when associated with new ventures and other endogenous resources of the territory.
