Resumo: Understanding the birth of a touristic destination, through the analysis of the correlation 'motivations - resources', is an important element to the several economic agents who move themselves in the area of tourism and, equally, to the public institutions that should define the politics for the sector. In this way, the work that we carried out, and which is briefly summarizing, was moved by the attempt of understanding the subjacent motivations and the evaluation of touristic resources made by a community of Dutch tourists that, in the last years, has been moving to a camping park placed in a rural area in Sátão (Casfreires - Ferreira de Aves), where, some time later, some of those tourists started to build several secondary residences in which they live during long periods of the year.
