Resumo: When considering the importance of strategic planning in organizations, this study aims to analyze the performance of strategic planning in the lodging facilities in rural tourism, associated to Pernambuco Association of Rural and Ecological Tourism (APETURR), considering also its benefits.Data collection was done through structured interviews applied to managers of seven farm-hotels. The results confirm that using strategic planning could bring benefits to the companies analyzed, but for this, the farm-hotels need to improve their tools to monitor, evaluate, formulate scenarios, interact and positioning themselves in an attempt to generate effective results through strategic planning.
