Resumo: This article explores the relationship between tourism and literature, assuming that the work and life of an author may be the basis for creating itineraries that encourage the tourism development of places through literature, leading to the sustainability of regional values. The life and work of José Régio are decisively marked by its passage through Portalegre, where he taught and lived a significant part of his life. Based on his life and work in this city, in this article we present a proposal for a biographical literary itinerary to be explored as a tourist product, in order to contribute to diversify the tourism offer of Portalegre.
