Resumo: As a natural way in the evolution of knowledge and consolidation of theories and basic premises about tourism’s thematic, the content of this article deals with the revision and theoretician-conceptual update of a methodological proposal called Comp&tenible, that contributes to evaluate the determinative conditions of competitiveness of destinations by means of the systematization of dimensions and attributes for its planning and management observing the sustainable criteria. The original proposal was presented as thesis of doctorate in economic sciences, and as exercise for the validation of the model, was applied in the evaluation of two touristic destinations, in Brazil and Spain. From the contributions to the improvement of the model received by the scientists and studious of the subject and facilitated by the applications of the methodology, adjustment can be considered in its form and content, observing its consolidation as appropriate methodology for other studies and application of the principles and attributes of sustainable strategy. The objective is to contribute to establish the basic premises in the composition of a conceptual landmark capable to support and update relevant researches about the different manifestations of the touristic phenomenon, in this in case, considering a strategic perspective for destinations management.
