Resumo: The spaces for recreational/tourism consumption are increasingly diverse, particular, originals and unexpected. The gardens are one of those particular spaces, and materializes in a perfect way this idea of a leisure space transverse to the times and societies. This intrinsic nature is not very original; however, it could be said that the current dimension of its recreational/tourist consumption is unique, even a phenomenon. This paper presents and discusses the garden tourism in Portugal through an exploratory analysis of the national and international garden tours for Portugal, available online. It was concluded that there is a niche tourism, which although little known and recognized in the global tourist circuits, may have a huge progression in the country.
