Resumo: The tourism seasonality is the fluctuation of the tourism activities during the year. The determinative factors of this phenomenon had been specified by investigators on the basis of the studies in determined regions. In the case of the tourist suppliers, classified as the seven tourism characteristic products by the Portugal Tourism Satellite Account, the causes can be distinct, depending on the business of each type of supplier. The knowledge of the causes of the tourism seasonality for each type of tourist supplier is essential to the management of seasonality. The natural cause, by the climate factor, can not be representative for the lodging, whereas for the leisure services this is the main cause. In such a way, this investigation analyzed the tourist supplier of the Algarve region with the intention to verify the principal cause of the seasonality and if this cause is the same or if is not the same for each tourist supplier.
