Resumo: The objective of this work is to analyse the international academic production on hotel location, the usedmethodology and variables, as well as the results obtained by the presented papers, and to search for similarities amongthose studies. To pursue this objective, a survey of the scientific production on this issue was accomplished in two internetportals of international magazines from 1999 to Jun 2009. The methodological procedure is based in exploratory proceedingand intentional sampling and quantitative approach of data collected through the key-words hotel location. Theanalysis has verified that little was produced focusing this specific issue, and that in most of the works secondary data isused as research base, and methodologies varied as are the objects of study.
