Resumo: The present article aims at reflecting about the relationship between culture and economy and namely between heritage (tangible and intangible) and cultural tourism/creative tourism. With this purpose, it is based on a reflexion about the Philosophic Travel to the Amazonia of Alexandre Rodrigues Ferreira, in the 18th, Century and on the documents associated to it. The aim is to question how which way this heritage could be appropriated to conceive and promote sustainable touristic experiences that valorise the Portuguese-Brazilian identity.
